Sunrise is not Alexandra's favorite time of the day so I was very impressed that she decided to get up at 5:00 am for a sunrise boat adventure.
Once the sun was up we could observe the locals going about their morning chores.
Bathing.
By the shaved head we understand that this lady is here for a family cremation.
Morning worship.
Personal laundering.
Professional laundering.
Hotel laundering.
Soaping up.
Swimming.
Or just waking up on your boat.
Another day has well and truly begun in Varanasi.
But the temperature is soaring toward 43 so it's time for a siesta for us.
