Saturday March 2, 2013 continued...
Sasuke Inari Shrine, or as we like to call it, fox worship.
We walked up the hill into the forest and were greeted by a colonnade of hundreds of vibrant red torii (pronounced tory-i).
No real explanation except that these portals or gates lead you to a shrine of the fox, the guardian of rice...
What with the rather large crows sounding off in the trees and the evil looking foxes watching on... Well what can I say...
Snappy dresser at least.
It's been a big day in Kamakura but we are not going to bed tonight. Tonight at 12pm we will catch the night bus and travel 600 kilometers to Kyoto....
