3. THE ARCHIVE

In the main lobby of Brooklyn Bethel there is a new display that everyone loves. THE ARCHIVE.

We met brothers from local congregations who were coming to bethel multiple times just to study it. It's a walk through display of modern museum quality that describes the history of Christianity from the first century to modern times. Although you could walk through it in about 5 minutes, if you read it all, there is enough information, pictures, graphics, time line, objects, and old and new photos, to keep you busy for 4 or 5 hours. For those of you who will not be able to visit any time soon, here is a tiny sample. And... It's way better than these few photos.

It starts in the first century, around the time of the book of Acts of the apostles.

Missionaries set out to share the good news
Christans are different to society in general. Some of the artwork is familiar to us from the Watchtower.

Persecuted for refusing to participate in the idolatry of nationalism

The so called Christian Emperor who joined church and state. "They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world." (John 17:16)

Spiritual darkness brings slaughter in the name of Christ...

A glimmer of spiritual light

"The intelligence of the intilectual men" (1 Corinthians 1:19)

All his ideas are: “There is no God" (psalms 10:4)

Mislead in the name of god

“Now as regards you, O son of man, a watchman is what I have made you to the house of Israel, and at my mouth you must hear the word and give them warning from me. (Ezekiel 33:7)

A New Way to Declare the Good NewsC. T. Russell realized the potential for motion pictures to reach masses of people. In 1912, therefore, he began preparing the “Photo-Drama of Creation.” Eventually, it came to be an eight-hour-long photographic slide and motion picture production, complete with color and sound

Good news for all nations

So, then, because we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also put off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1)
