18. A NEW COUNTRY TO START A NEW YEAR, CANADA HERE WE COME

Tuesday, January 1, 2013

Today is the first day of 2013. It's also the last day of our USA adventure. We have had such an amazing time and met so many friends, old and new.

Thank you Les and Laurie for a very enjoyable stay in your beautiful home. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you. We wish we could have stayed longer but we really had to go. Looking forward to seeing you again someday in the future.
Not the worst dining room vista
We are really driving in the snow now.
An old covered bridge
And another one
And here is a familiar sight
At Burlington airport we turn in the rental car and meet up with another familiar site, our old friend Grant from Australia who now lives just across the border in Canada.
Part of a Burlington mural. Burlington is the Capitol of Vermont for those like me who had no idea...
This typical American public building seems a fitting symbol as any to mark the end of our USA sojourn. For all its faults we must say that there is a lot we do like about this post Greco-Roman world power. As our friend Danny Fensom says, "what's not to like about America?" And when it comes to the natural beauty and charming old architecture of New England... well it's pretty hard to beat...
And now tis time to cross the boarder into Quebec Canada.
Our friends Grant and Wanda recently moved from Melbourne to Wanda's home congregation. The live in of Brome.
Here is their recently almost finished renovated home in the snow... It's a study in white on white.
And here is their pride and joy, 18 month old Hannah.

Heres Hannah and Wanda
Ahd heres Hanna and Grant
And once again we sit down to another delicious home cooked meal
And a warm and comfortable bed... It's snowing outside of course. We are in Canada...
Good night
