INDIA 13. DESTINATION NEW DELHI.

Saturday May 3, 2014

Another rail journey, this time from Jaipur in the state of Rajasthan to Delhi, the National Capital of India since 1911. This city has roughly the same population as the whole of Australia, 22 million.

Following our last train escapade, we were glad to know that this journey from Jaipur to Delhi was to be an air conditioned car.

Rail porters waiting for the next train.

But as uncomfortable as the previous carriage had been it was nothing compared to the situation in this carriage. There are some cars for which a person can pay for a ride but not reserve a seat...

And they are extremely crowded. And it's still around 43 degrees.

Poor kids.

A glimps of life for the poor beside the Delhi railway.

Fortunately for us we had a very enjoyable and comfortable journey. We spent the entire 4 hours in a very enjoyable conversation with a Delhi man named Ishan.
